End of Lamp Life (EOL) The end of lamp life (EOL) effect has been a topic of much discussion over the past few months, however this phenomenon is not new and has been recognized for a number of years. The profile of EOL has been raised in recent months due to a number of serious failures in some of our competitor’s luminaires. As a result, there is considerable confusion surrounding the issue and the certification requirements for Ex e luminaires to protect against EOL. It should be highlighted that Chalmit® products have always incorporated EOL protection and that no problems of EOL have ever been reported with Chalmit® luminaires or ballasts. This presentation is will outline what constitutes EOL and how Chalmit® products are protected.
